This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you visit https://www.fortiesplaybook.com, subscribe to our emails, download a resource, purchase a product or otherwise interact with us.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

The data controller is:

The Thrive Consultancy FZCO
Trading as Forties Playbook

Registration number: DSO-FZCO-11445

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • your name and email address;
  • billing details, country and transaction information when you make a purchase;
  • information you provide through forms, surveys, emails or customer-support requests;
  • your subscription and marketing preferences;
  • technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type, referring page, access times and basic server logs;
  • information about which resources or products you requested or purchased.

Stripe processes payment-card details on our behalf. We do not normally receive or store your full payment-card number.

Please do not send us medical records, diagnoses, medication details or other sensitive health information unless we specifically request it and explain why it is needed. If a future form asks for health-related information, we will provide additional information and obtain explicit consent where required.

3. How we collect information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you subscribe, download, purchase or contact us;
  • automatically through essential website technology and server logs;
  • from Stripe when a payment is made or attempted;
  • from Hostinger in connection with hosting, website forms, security and delivery of our website.

4. How and why we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • deliver free resources such as The Calm Planner;
  • process and fulfil purchases;
  • send order confirmations, access information and essential service messages;
  • provide customer support;
  • send newsletters, product updates and marketing where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law;
  • maintain the security and proper functioning of our website;
  • understand and improve our content, website and products;
  • prevent fraud, misuse or unlawful activity;
  • maintain financial and tax records and comply with legal obligations;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Depending on your location and the context, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving Forties Playbook.

You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

5. Email communications

When you request a free resource, the sign-up form will explain whether you are also subscribing to Forties Playbook emails. We may send the requested resource and related service messages necessary to fulfil your request. We send optional marketing only as permitted by applicable law.

You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time. We may retain minimal information on a suppression list so that we can honour your request not to receive further marketing.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only where necessary with service providers that help us operate Forties Playbook, currently including:

  • Hostinger, for website hosting, technical infrastructure, forms, storage and security; and
  • Stripe, for payment processing, fraud prevention and transaction administration.

These providers process information under their own contractual and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights.

If we reorganise, sell or transfer all or part of the business, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable safeguards.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United Arab Emirates and serve customers worldwide. Our service providers may process information in the UAE, the United States, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or other countries in which they operate.

Where applicable law requires it, we use recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for further information about safeguards relevant to your information.

8. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including:

  • subscription information until you unsubscribe or the list is no longer active, after which limited suppression data may be retained;
  • customer, transaction and invoice records for the period required by applicable accounting, tax and legal rules;
  • customer-support correspondence generally for up to two years after the matter is resolved, unless a longer period is reasonably required;
  • technical and security logs for a limited period appropriate to security and troubleshooting;
  • records needed for legal claims for the relevant limitation period.

We may anonymise information so that it no longer identifies you and use that anonymised information for research, product development or statistical purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • request access to your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion of information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format;
